Superior Preparation. Extraordinary Results.
The Bren School Career Development Team primarily serves the MESM students and would recommend that PhD students contact UCSB Career Services for specialized assistance or work through their respective faculty advisors. However, if PhDs are interested in pursuing a non-academic career path, they can reach the Bren School Career Development Team for assistance at career@bren.ucsb.edu.
In addition, there are a number of services available to PhD students through the Bren School Career Development office, including:
Online Resources
- Academic Careers - Connects you to comprehensive academic job listings.
- Other Careers - Links to non-academic job listings for PhDs.
- Job Search Skills - Although geared toward our master's students, this page has information about resumes, cover letters, networking ideas, interviewing tips, salary negotiations, in addition to other job search-related topics.
Additional Career Resources
- Job Announcement Listserv - Email career@bren.ucsb.edu to be added to the Bren School's Job Announcement Listserv and begin receiving announcements right away.
- Job Search Workshops - Throughout the academic year the Career Development Team puts on a number of career-related workshops. While these workshops are targeted at MESM students, Bren PhD students are welcome to attend. These workshops internally via email.
