An understanding of where we get water, how we use it, and at what cost is critical both in coping with the water scarcity we are experiencing today in California and in planning to manage our water resources effectively in the future. The choices we make with respect to water, both as individuals and as a society, have implications for the natural environment, for our economy, and for our own health and livelihoods. We are fortunate at the Bren School to have a number of faculty members who are esteemed experts on water science and technology, economics, law, and policy all under one roof. Please join us as Professors Arturo Keller and Gary Libecap, Visiting Lecturer Jim Salzman, Adjunct Associate Professor Robert Wilkinson explore topics as they relate to drought both across California and locally, in Santa Barbara. It promises to be an interesting and informative discussion.

NOTE: This talk will be of broad interest and geared toward a diverse, sophisticated audience. The purpose is not only to enhance knowledge and understanding, but also to bring people together and promote interaction that will strengthen the community.
