Bren Teams Set for Final of UCSB New Venture Competition
Two of six finalists are Eco-E students

On May 22, six teams will compete in finals of the 2014 UCSB New Venture Competition (NVC). Two of them are from the Bren School Eco-Entrepreneurship focus.

One team, Bottle Branders, was created by Bren students Max Ludington and Harish Prather (both MESM 2014) and their partner, Max Lowenberg, to enhance the value of the large "growler" bottles distributed by small breweries.

The other team, Salty Girl Seafood, is a sustainable seafood distribution company created by Bren students Gina Auriemma, Norah Eddy, and Laura Johnson, who are working with their partner, Andreas Viggen.

They will be competing against a team proposing a biotech product, another that offers innovative lighting, a team that has developed a 3D cloud mapping service, and restaurant-focused smartphone app.

Note: The event draws big crowds, so register now on the NVC site.
