Time was when the U.S. Forest Service suppressed all fires to ensure a sustainable supply of timber. But things are changing, according to Bren assistant professor Sarah Anderson and her co-researchers, Terry Anderson, her father, who is president of the Property and Environment Research Center (PERC) and a fellow at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University. The two appear together in a video shot after a PERC seminar presented by Sarah Anderson concering research she conducted with her father and Bren MESM alumna and now PhD student in Political Science Heather Hodges.

The talk — and the video — cover findings included in a working paper, researchered by the Andersons and Hodges, in which they looked at the effects of politics, economics, and ecology on Forest Service forest management strategies.
