Nature Blog Covers Dozier



Longtime Bren professor Jeff Dozier took a somewhat unusual route to becoming a world-renowned snow hydrologist and remote-sensing expert. He and several climbing partners were making their way up a steep snow slope at about 20,000 feet of elevation in Afghanistan, when one of them wondered out loud if the snow above them might avalanche. Unwilling to settle for "not knowing," Dr. Dozier has been studying the qualities of snow hydrology ever since.
