Sustainable Fisheries Group Work
Covered in Washington Post

The Oct. 3 edition of the Washington Post included an Editorial Board piece highlighting recent findings on depleted fisheries, which resulted from work done by researchers in and affiliated with the Bren School's Sustainable Fisheries Group. The findings were included in a largers study by the consulting firm California Environmental Associates.

The opinion piece summarizes the longer article, which addresses the number of the world's fisheries that are depleted, the incentives that create a "race to fish" among fishermen, and the value of "catch shares" styles of fisheries management.
