Council of Legal Advisors

The Bren School Council of Legal Advisors was established in 2010 to support environmental legal education at the Bren School by forming partnerships with some of the nation's most prestigious environmental law firms. Council members provide advice to the dean and faculty on the legal training of Bren students, make themselves available for occasional student mentoring, and provide legal insights for Group Project teams. Council members or other senior partners from their firms also lead half- and full-day enhancement workshops in their areas of expertise. Bren students may pose questions to the council and receive feedback (see link below) concerning legal issues that may impact Group Projects or other aspects of study.

Dean's Council

The Dean’s Council was created to support, promote, and guide the Bren School in its quest to become the most outstanding school of its kind in the nation, while also serving as the primary conduit between the school and the community at large. The Council holds three informative, action-oriented meetings per year, one each during the fall, winter, and spring academic quarters. It also sponsors the Breakfast Club, which meets quarterly at the University Club in Santa Barbara for sessions that are open to the invited public.

Eco-Entrepreneurship Advisory Council

Environmental challenges facing the world today seem daunting, yet they present tremendous opportunities for “eco-entrepreneurs.” Green-tech and innovative environmental strategies show great promise for reviving the economy and improving the environment.

Eco-Entrepreneurship students at the Bren School are trained to advance an innovation along the trajectory from science to solution. The Eco-Entrepreneurship Advisory Council (EEAC) guides, supports, and promotes eco-entrepreneurship education at the Bren School, and serves as the primary conduit between the school and the entrepreneurial and investor communities.
