Beth Pitton-August

As the Bren School’s Director of Development, Beth Pitton-August works closely with the dean, faculty, and staff to raise funds to support the Bren School, and is the point person for managing and supporting the school’s Dean’s Council, Council of Legal Advisors, and Eco-E Advisory Council. She works closely with the Career Development and Alumni Relations teams, particularly to build community and business connections that support the Bren School Corporate Partners program. In her wealth of fundraising experience, Beth has served as Corporate & Foundation Relations Director at Direct Relief and as Development Director at the Environmental Defense Center. She also ran her own consulting practice, providing development research, strategy, and writing services for such nonprofit clients as the Community Action Fund for Women in Africa (CAFWA), the Rona Barrett Foundation, THRIVE Santa Barbara County, and State Street Ballet.

Beth received her BA in International Studies from Moody Bible Institute and her MA in Liberal Studies from DePaul University. Beth is also passionate about voting rights and has been a highly involved member of the League of Women Voters since 2006 and served as co-President of the Santa Barbara chapter. In her free time, Beth enjoys reading, hiking, and riding two-up on a sport motorcycle with her husband.
