A beloved Brennie, Clayton Tyler Heinrich (MESM 2014) courageously fought an eight-year battle with a rare form of bone cancer and throughout, he kept his sense of humor, optimism, and gratitude saying, “Every day is a gift.”

The Clayton Tyler Heinrich Memorial Fellowship Fund supports qualified graduate student(s) at the Bren School pursuing a Master’s degree. When possible, a student will be selected whose interests align with Clayton’s personal passions such as environmental engineering, renewable energy, carbon footprint analysis, and Life Cycle Assessment, prioritizing those who show promise but do not have the means to attend without financial support.

Led by his father Marcus Heinrich and friends and classmates from the 2014 MESM class, fellow Brennies are invited to join them in making a gift in Clayton’s honor to support the Clayton Tyler Heinrich Memorial Fellowship Fund.

More About Clayton

Clayton was a recipient of the prestigious Donald Bren Foundation Recruiting Fellowship reserved for the most high-achieving recruits to the Master of Environmental Science & Management (MESM) program at the Bren School.

A talented musician, Clayton was a member of Brengrass who added his vocal and rhythm guitar virtuosity to many special events at Bren Hall and various venues around town.

As an environmental professional, Clayton was most interested in environmental engineering with a focus on carbon footprint analysis, renewable energy, and Life Cycle Assessment. In the finest Bren tradition, Clayton approached problems deliberately and methodically to piece together a solution.
