Bio
Angie Gulizia is a master’s student at the Bren School specializing in Conservation Planning with a focus in Environmental Communication. She graduated in 2025 from UC Santa Barbara with a B.A. in Environmental Studies and Communication. For her senior thesis, she drew from both fields and researched perceptions of prescribed fire in the Santa Barbara wildland-urban interface by conducting resident interviews. This project further sparked her interest in science communication and constituent outreach in conservation planning. After graduating, Angie spent a summer in the Sierra Nevada and Southern Oregon collecting data for two forest science research projects in the Landscapes of Change Lab at UCSB. In the future, she plans to work in forest conservation. Angie is passionate about communicating conservation efforts and land management practices to the public and sharing her excitement about nature with others.
