Bio
Daofeng Zhou is a Master’s student in the Master of Environmental Science and Management program at the Bren School, University of California, Santa Barbara. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies from UCSB, where he explored a wide range of sustainability topics. As an undergraduate, he co-authored a paper on the future of hydrogen fuel cells in the automobile industry and conducted GIS research projecting coastal erosion risks in Isla Vista.

At Bren, Daofeng is pursuing a specialization in energy and climate, with a particular interest in renewable energy and the decarbonization of transportation systems as pathways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Drawing on California’s leadership in advancing clean energy and climate solutions, he seeks to connect regional innovation to global transportation challenges.

Outside of academics, Daofeng has a strong personal interest in the automobile industry. He closely follows developments in the global car market, especially the rapidly evolving Chinese EV sector, and enjoys following how motorsport can evolve toward a more sustainable future.
