Post-Fire Coastal Communications Toolkit
As climate-driven emergencies increase in frequency and intensity, organizations like Heal the Bay serve as the link between communities and decision-makers. This project provides a strategic communications toolkit to guide rapid, coordinated public messaging in the aftermath of wildfires and other climate-driven emergencies that threaten coastal water quality. Building on Heal the Bay’s post-fire research, the team has developed a ready-to-use messaging framework, social media templates, and stakeholder communication protocols to ensure clear, accurate, and equity-centered outreach during recovery. The final product aims to equip Heal the Bay and partner agencies with a proactive communications strategy to protect public health, build trust, and strengthen coastal resilience in future emergencies.
