Bio
Alexis Grana graduated from the University of California Davis in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Management with a focus on Natural Resource Management. As an undergraduate student, she aided in graduate research about plant-pollinator interactions regarding how the invasive plant, hairy vetch, affects grassland ecosystems and native flora at the UC McLaughlin Reserve. She became interested in sustainability while learning about the effect of animal agriculture on greenhouse gas emissions. At UC Davis, she headed the social media team of a student-led initiative, Aggie Reuse, to bring to light the negative impacts of the fast fashion industry and promote sustainable clothing. Her interests culminated in her group capstone project focused on the effects of salinity on vegetation growth in the San Joaquin Valley. At the Bren school, Alexis specializes in Corporate Environmental Management with a focus in Strategic Environmental Communication and Media. She hopes to bring more environmentally safe practices to the private sector and bring about a more sustainable future for the planet.
