Bio
Ariel’s transition to the professional environmental field is fifteen years in the making. She entered the workforce in 2009 after graduating summa cum laude from University of California, Riverside with a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology in 2009. She has spent the last eight years working in the environmental realm in jobs ranging from vegetation monitor to volunteer coordinator. Most recently she worked on a habitat restoration project in the Eastern Sierra that focused on the rehabilitation of sand dune habitat. Her goal at Bren is to develop skills related to habitat restoration and management in an effort to utilize a solution-based approach to the repair of degraded ecosystems. In her free time, Ariel pursues a variety of recreational and domestic pursuits including hiking, bikepacking, sourdough baking, and sewing.
