Bio
Ashley Diedenhofen leverages science communication to promote innovative environmental solutions, spark scientific curiosity, and drive positive change. In 2020, she founded Science by Ashley, a social media platform making topics like food waste reduction, coastal resilience, and environmentally conscious living accessible to all. Through her platform, she has collaborated with organizations such as Kroger's Zero Hunger Zero Waste initiative, Earthjustice, and Visit Costa Rica x Leave No Trace. With a BS in Biology and a minor in Professional Writing focused on Science Communication from UC Santa Barbara (2019), Ashley combines film and education to craft digital stories that inspire action.
At Bren, she aims to deepen her understanding of coastal resource management and agricultural sustainability while exploring the intersection of policy, business, and sustainability. Ashley is particularly passionate about developing climate adaptation strategies for communities and finding ways to balance tourism with conservation, ensuring that both local communities and the environment succeed.
