Bio
Bailey comes to the Bren School with an interest in sustainable food systems and environmental policy. After completing her B.A. in Political Science and Environmental Policy and Culture at Northwestern University in 2019, Bailey moved to Paraguay to serve with the Peace Corps. During her time in Paraguay, she worked with local counterparts to teach students about sustainable agriculture and the scientific method.

When she returned to the U.S., she developed new skills as a policy analyst for the SNAP program before pursuing work more aligned with her interests in climate change and food systems with the UC Agriculture and Natural Resource division (UCANR). At UCANR, Bailey partnered with local Resource Conservation Districts to help historically underserved farmers access funding and resources to implement climate smart farming practices.

Bailey is excited to continue learning about the intersection of climate change, food production, and policy through specializations in Coastal Resource Management and Environmental Policy. Bailey hopes her background and new skills from Bren, will help her connect with policymakers and advocate for effective programs that help producers adapt to climate change.
