Bio
Daphne Prodis earned a degree in Environmental Studies with a minor in Architecture and Urban History from UC Santa Barbara in 2022. Her interest in environmental sustainability started at a young age while growing up along California’s Central Coast. She volunteered for the Monterey Bay Aquarium and was inspired by her ability to communicate with diverse groups of people on topics surrounding ocean conservation. This eventually led her to an early career in public engagement and environmental education for teens. Interested in the public sector, Daphne pursued an agricultural biologist internship with the County of Santa Clara, where she worked on pest and disease regulatory projects and land conservation policies. While living in Silicon Valley, she was struck by the vast socio-economic inequalities affecting those in her community. Recognizing the linkages between social and climate injustices, she intends to incorporate environmental activism throughout her career. At the Bren School, Daphne will specialize in Business & Sustainability, with an emphasis in Strategic Communication and Media. Her hope is to work to increase corporate accountability, reduce greenwashing, and proactively meet climate targets within the private sector.
