Bio
Diego Bier earned his Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara. After graduation, he began working as an Executive Assistant to the Deans in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education, where he continues to serve. In this role, he provides high-level executive support, managing schedules, preparing briefs and reports, coordinating communications, and supporting committees and school-wide initiatives. His work also includes policy analysis, special project management, and ensuring alignment with state and UC system policies.
Growing up surrounded by RegioPlan, a regional development and consulting firm operated by his family in Honduras, Diego developed an early appreciation for the intersections of environmental planning, infrastructure, and sustainable development. This experience inspired him to pursue a Master’s degree at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management, specializing in Business and Sustainability.
Diego’s short-term goal is to work in the private sector on corporate sustainability solutions, particularly in tourism or sustainable product development. His long-term objective is to bring innovative, modern approaches to RegioPlan’s operations in Latin America. Outside of work, Diego enjoys soccer, the outdoors, and live music.
