Dominique Changlee earned her Bachelors degree of Arts in Environmental Studies from the University of California Santa Barbara (2025). She also received a Technology Management Certificate the same year. During her time in undergraduate, she interned with Sea Grant to develop a story map that would showcase California fisheries, and create new signs for the Santa Barbara pier showing the variety of species found locally. She also interned with the Marine Biodiversity Observation Network (MBON), where she supported the Miller Lab’s research by monitoring and analyzing biodiversity in the Channel Islands, focusing on kelp forest species such as fish, and invertebrates. Dominique traveled to Costa Rica to support conservation efforts for the Olive Ridley Turtle. During her time there, she spoke with locals and fishermen about ways to protect the community from being displaced by large corporations and unsustainable tourism. Dominique hopes to take her passion for marine life and help coastal companies reduce their carbon footprints, which has led her to pursue a focus in Business and Sustainability. In her free time, Dominique likes to explore the local hiking trails of Santa Barbara and work on Graphic design to help communicate any local events.
