Originally from Washington, Grace earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Science with a concentration in Environmental Health from Stony Brook University in 2025. Her courses covered physical, chemical, biological, and geological oceanography, while the environmental health focus introduced her to topics such as marine pollution, environmental problems and solutions, as well as environmental justice.

At Stony Brook, Grace interned with the university’s Office of Sustainability as an EcoLeader, where she helped connect students, faculty, and staff to sustainability initiatives and contributed to the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System (STARS) report. Through academic projects and research papers, she developed a strong interest in the intersections of marine science, climate change, renewable energy, and pollution.

Building on this foundation, Grace is especially motivated by finding ways to translate marine and environmental science into actionable policy and management solutions. She aims to combine scientific knowledge with social science perspectives to help address pressing marine and coastal challenges.
