Bio
Hailey Burke graduated magna cum laude from California State University, Sacramento in Fall 2021 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Studies and a minor in Business Administration. During her undergraduate career, Hailey worked in the school's recycling and sustainability program, as well as with the water conservation and sustainability team in the City of Sacramento. Her responsibilities included sustainability projects such as completing the Greenhouse Gas Inventory for the City of Sacramento’s Department of Utilities fleet and building inventory for 2021, evaluating water leak notification data, and creating service reports through the city’s databases and websites. She later worked as an intern for The Gualco Group lobbying firm, where she spent time tracking environmental bills that were passing through California’s State Senate and Assembly and flagging them for the firm’s clients and their interests.
While Hailey enjoyed her time in water conservation and environmental policy, she wishes to specialize in Corporate Environmental Management with a focus in strategic environmental communication during her time at the Bren School. Eventually, Hailey wants to work within a large corporation to improve its sustainability practices and hold them accountable for the negative impacts they have on the environment.
