Bio
During her time as an undergraduate student at California State University, Los Angeles, Isabella refined what she wanted to pursue with much consideration. Originally majoring in geology, she made a decisive shift into the study of geography as she familiarized herself with the multidisciplinary nature of environmental science. Recognizing the vast impact human activity has on the environment, she decided to advocate for more effective and strategic stewardship of it. In 2019, Isabella received her B.A. in Environmental Geography, along with a certification in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
For her senior capstone project, she wrote and presented a thesis exploring how urban food gardens can enhance food security and health, promote environmental sustainability and resilience, and foster a stronger sense of community and stewardship in low-income areas. In her qualitative research, she observed how access to environmental education creates lasting effects on communities' treatment of their local environment. At the Bren School, she is driven to grow her professional skill set, foster connections, and pursue conservation planning. Her overarching goal is to mitigate further environmental pollution and degradation in urban areas, collaborating with others across various disciplines in planning for a more sustainable and equitable future.
