Bio
Jack Mawhinney graduated with a bachelor's degree in May 2025 studying physics at UC Berkeley. During that time, he showed promise and talent as a scientist and mathematician. He participated in internships with the Space Sciences Laboratory and Lawrence National Laboratory involving heliospheric and particle physics respectively. Jack has now turned his focus towards environmental problems which he is studying through participation in the MESM program at Bren. Ecological modeling is his particular interest, which he is currently studying and researching through a graduate student researcher position with Dr. David Tilman. His interests span the entirety of the Bren curriculum however, with a background and focus particularly involving mathematics and computational modeling.
