Bio
Julia graduated from the University of Oregon with a dual Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and Global Studies and a minor in Spanish. After graduating, she followed her passions to work for an air quality nonprofit, Breathe California Sacramento Region, where she collaborated with diverse communities to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through improving access to electric vehicles and implementing composting in schools. To expand her language skills, Julia worked as a teaching assistant in Spain for two years, leading natural and social science classes and developing bilingual resources for students and teachers.

In 2024, Julia served with California Climate Action Corps, a branch of AmeriCorps, where she advanced school sustainability efforts like climate change education, increasing native habitat, and introducing composting and recycling programs. In her spare time, Julia volunteered at The Marine Mammal Center, reigniting her passion for marine conservation. Julia’s hands-on experience with climate resiliency in California public schools inspired her to pursue her Master of Environmental Science and Management at the Bren School. With interests in environmental justice, coastal resources management, and policy, Julia strives to expand her knowledge of environmental solutions both locally and globally.
