Payroll/Personnel/Travel Coordinator
Lucy Navarrete serves as the Payroll, Personnel, and Travel Coordinator at the University of California, Santa Barbara’s Bren School, a role she has held since March of 2023. With over 20 years of experience in administrative operations, HR, payroll, academic personnel, and financial coordination, she plays a critical role in managing payroll processing, UCPath operations, academic appointments, timekeeping, and travel reimbursements. She ensures compliance with UC policies and extramural funding regulations.
Her extensive background spans education, non-profits, and private sector roles, including leadership positions in school districts, professional associations, and youth-serving organizations. She holds a B.A. in Spanish and Chicano Studies from UCSB and has earned multiple certifications in administration and leadership. Known for her attention to detail and collaborative approach, she is a trusted liaison across departments, supporting faculty, staff, students, and researchers alike.
Outside of work, Lucy enjoys spending time with her approved emotional support dog, who often joins her at the office. She is an active member of the UCSB Horse Boarders Association and finds balance and relaxation through hot yoga.
