Bio
Mara Booth graduated summa cum laude from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies and a minor in Atmospheric and Oceanic Studies. During her time at CU, Mara worked as an undergraduate research assistant for the Political Science department investigating climate induced migration in the Marshall Islands. She spent her later undergrad years conducting independent research for her thesis, which focused on financing marine conservation through restructured debt. She went on to co-author a paper based on this work and published it in Frontiers in Marine Science in 2022. Mara most recently worked at Qualtrics as a Customer Success Associate, honing her skills at account and project management in tech. As an avid sailor and PADI dive instructor, Mara has always felt called to pursue a career preserving and promoting the beauty of the underwater world. With a specialization in Marine Resources and Coastal Management, and a Communication focus, she is eager to pursue work at the intersection of marine conservation, scientific communication and community engagement.
