Bio
Following her graduation from Santa Clara University in 2023 with a B.S. in Biochemistry, Meha began her career in sustainable biotechnology. Most recently, at Pivot Bio in Berkeley, CA, she worked on developing nitrogen-fixing microbes for crops as an alternative to synthetic fertilizers, helping to reduce agricultural pollutant runoff and support more resilient food systems. Driven to foster environmental awareness as well, Meha volunteered with the Marine Mammal Center, engaging the public in marine conservation education and promoting everyday environmental stewardship practices.

Meha’s dedication to protecting the ecosystems, economy, and public health of coastal regions from runoff pollution stems from witnessing the decline in water quality impact her own coastal community. At Bren, she plans to deepen her expertise in coastal resources management, pollution prevention and remediation, and strategic environmental communication, while investigating how biotechnologies, policy, and community engagement can intersect to drive effective environmental interventions. Meha aims to leverage this integrative education to advance coastal pollution prevention efforts and develop solutions that are resilient to evolving challenges, safeguarding communities and ecosystems for generations to come.
