Bio
Nathalie Bonnet holds a Bachelor of Science in Aquatic Biology from UC Santa Barbara, where she was awarded distinction in the EEMB major for her undergraduate research. She developed a love for field work and data-driven ecological problem solving as a research assistant focusing on native bees at the Cheadle Center for Biodiversity and Ecological Restoration (CCBER). In addition to creating training data for ecological models and studying female carpenter bee sociality, she researched the thermal tolerance of bees in the Santa Barbara area to project species’ vulnerability to climate change. She is an intern at the National Center for Ecological Analysis and Synthesis (NCEAS) working on metadata creation for the National Science Foundation Arctic Data Center data catalog.

Nathalie’s experience spanning from data collection to large scale processing underlines her interest in data accessibility and scientific communication. Pursuing her Master’s in Environmental Data Science at UCSB, she aims to develop expertise in geospatial analysis and environmental modeling to inform solutions for pollinator conservation and sustainable food systems.
