Rebeca Adam graduated cum laude from UC Santa Barbara in 2022 with a B.S. in Environmental Studies. She began her environmental career as a Stipend Volunteer Sustainability Assistant for the Alaska Regional Forest Service, focusing on environmental policy and settlement analysis. She also assisted with invasive species management at the Mendenhall Glacier Center.
In 2021, Rebeca joined AmeriCorps as a Resource Assistant for the Alaska Regional Forest Service Partnership, Services, and Volunteer Program. Her research project identified Partnership needs at the District and Regional levels, resulting in the Partnership Program receiving its own Directorate within the Alaska Region. In this role, Rebeca conducted a Regional Partnership Needs Assessment of all Forest Service personnel involved in partnerships. She also completed an Active Agreements Strategic Analysis, analyzing over 3,000 partnership agreements to determine funding invested in partners and the amount of money leveraged by partners in return. In addition, she collaborated with partners, such as the National Forest Foundation, to revamp the Partnership Program's website and feature stories of environmental achievements.
These experiences deepened Rebeca's interest in advancing conservation projects by fostering stakeholder collaboration. At Bren, Rebeca plans to specialize in Conservation Planning to advance her career in lands management and preservation.
