Student Services Coordinator
Robin provides a variety of administrative support for Bren School students, faculty, and staff for academic programs, room scheduling, student employment, and other student services. She is the primary contact for the help-ticket system for the Student Affairs, Academic Programs, and Scheduling teams, as well as Disabled Students Program accommodation requests and visiting instructor needs. Robin maintains multiple electronic calendars for events and meetings, as well as the online self-booking system. She manages the annual Bren TA application process, assists with assignments and hiring for Bren courses, and processes all Eligibility Verification requests from outside departments hiring Bren students.
Before joining Bren in 2022, Robin worked for UCSB’s Anthropology Department for 13 years, first as the Graduate Program Coordinator, then for another 10 years as the Business Officer. She managed graduate student advising and financial support as well as complex departmental accounting, curriculum, and the curation of archaeological collections space. Before her UCSB staff experience, Robin enjoyed an extensive career as an educator, both in traditional classrooms and non-traditional settings. She developed and delivered natural history and conservation education programs for institutions such as Channel Islands National Park, the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History, Sea Center, Channel Islands National Marine Sanctuary, and The Nature Conservancy’s Santa Cruz Island Preserve. Robin developed and taught standard and interdisciplinary enrichment curriculum in all subjects in local elementary schools. Throughout her career, she has remained steadfast in her advocacy for first-hand experiences with the natural world, recognizing their pivotal role in fostering stewardship of our planet's long-term health and sustainability.
Robin is a second-generation UCSB alumna, earning her BA in both Environmental Studies (with an emphasis in environmental education) and Anthropology, as well as her teaching credential from UCSB’s Graduate School of Education. She has lived in Santa Barbara since childhood, spending countless hours on local beaches, islands, trails, and the Santa Barbara Channel. When not at work, Robin enjoys DIY projects, gardening, fiber arts, casual birding, and chronicling her backyard trail cam stream.
