Bio
Tanvi is a MESM student at Bren with interests in energy-environment interactions that influence the energy transition. She graduated with honors from Carnegie Mellon University in 2020, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Chinese Studies. She interned at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, focusing on ocean wave energy conversion and lithium ion battery recycling. After graduating, she worked in advanced nuclear reactor development at Kairos Power. In her role as a reactor systems engineer, Tanvi bridged disciplines to integrate design needs and licensing requirements for optimizing features of the reactor vessel.

Most recently, Tanvi worked in the Alaskan tourism industry as a naturalist guide. She led group excursions to experience the local ecology and communicated the realities of climate change to diverse audiences.

At Bren, Tanvi is developing the environmental communications and management complement to her engineering experience. She intends on a career analyzing environmental and health co-benefits and facilitating community-based siting for clean energy systems.
