Bio
Tatiana Bok graduated from San Diego State University (SDSU) in 2022 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. During her undergraduate career, she was a research assistant in an environmental toxicology lab where she focused on aquatic toxicity testing using marine invertebrates. Tatiana expanded upon her passion for marine and coastal ecosystems through conservation fieldwork in both California and Costa Rica. In California, she interned with the "Friends of Ballona Wetlands" where she focused on habitat restoration to benefit endangered El Segundo Blue Butterfly populations. She then utilized her bilingual background in Costa Rica to volunteer on projects that focused on the protection and conservation of endangered sea turtle populations. Through both her professional and personal experiences, Tatiana developed a deep connection to the coast. This motivated her to pursue a specialization in Coastal Marine Resource Management with a focus in Strategic Environmental Communication at Bren. She aims to use the skills she learns to further protect and preserve coastal communities and educate the public on the immense value of these ecosystems.
