William Mullins is a recent graduate from the University of Kansas with a B.S. in Ecology, Evolution, and Organismal Biology. Combining his long-standing interest in programming with his studies in ecology, he pursued undergraduate research into ecological forecasting. Under the supervision of Dr. Daniel Reuman, he conducted independent research utilizing machine learning methods to develop predictive models of giant kelp in Santa Barbara. This project honed his skills in R, Python, data wrangling, time-series analysis, and model validation. William hopes to further develop these skills to answer complex ecological questions in the future.
