Something About Me

Addison is a rising fourth-year Environmental Studies major and Applied Psychology minor at UC Santa Barbara. She is interested in pursuing a career that merges these interests and pertains to environmental science and policy. Addison is involved in several on campus organizations including the Environmental Law Club, Gauchos Go Green, and is an author for the Global Affairs Journal. Through her Fellowship this summer, she is working closely with Ph.D. student, Alicia Caughman, to assess the capacity for climate-induced evolution within Marine Protected Areas (MPAs). This project consists of creating a literature review pertaining to the project’s goals. Using R, she is synthesizing the relevant data from the existing literature to identify what traits impact how quickly evolution is going to occur. The results from this research will help to better design MPAs to mitigate these effects.
