Something About Me
Kayle is a rising fourth-year Environmental Studies major and Applied Psychology minor at UC Santa Barbara. She is passionate about environmental communication and education, especially where psychology and environmental issues intersect. On campus, she served as the DEI Student Coordinator for the Environmental Studies Program, where she organized student-centered diversity and inclusion events, created DEI-focused social media content, and compiled resources to connect students with Environmental Justice opportunities. Kayle’s passion for diversity and inclusion led her to the Women Doing Science project, where she is collaborating with Lauren Puffer under the guidance of Alex Phillips to transform the project’s online archive into a classroom-ready Shiny App and curriculum. Her work centers on designing lesson plans that help K–12 students connect with diverse STEM role models and imagine themselves in scientific careers. She is excited to uplift young women and affirm that anyone, regardless of their background or identity, belongs in STEM.
