Description

This course will introduce the multidisciplinary field of planetary health, which is concerned with the health of human civilization and the state of the natural systems on which it depends. The course will explore linkages and feedbacks between environmental degradation, global change and human health and well-being, including infectious and non-infectious disease, diets and nutrition, and mental health, among other topics. Students will learn how to analyze and quantify these linkages between human health and environmental change through course assignments. Finally, the course will explore proposed solutions to jointly improve environmental and human health outcomes.
