As a Ph.D. student at Bren, Allie is interested in the intersection of marine conservation ecology and data science. In particular, she is endeavoring to understand how to best direct conservation efforts for important species and habitats, particularly marine predators, in the face of climate change and other stressors.
Prior to starting her Ph.D., Allie graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor’s in Biology. While at Georgia Tech, Allie studied coral microbiomes to understand how microbes can help corals adapt to changing ocean conditions. During her time at Bren, Allie is supported by the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellows Program.
