Angie graduated summa cum laude from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo in 2024 with a B.S. in Environmental Management and Protection and a minor in Anthropology and Geography. Her main interests lie in restoration ecology with a focus on native plant biodiversity. During her undergraduate degree, Angie spent a summer in the chaparral of the Angeles National Forest doing wildland habitat restoration for the nonprofit TreePeople. Additionally, she spent her senior year working as a student assistant in the Aquatic Resource Biology Department of Caltrans. In this role, she aided in wetland delineations, rare plant surveys, GIS mapping, restoration monitoring, and technical reports for projects throughout California's Central Coast. After graduation, Angie worked in the forests of Yosemite and Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Parks conducting research on disease impacts to sugar pines.
Through these experiences, she deepened her passion for California's beautifully unique ecosystems. At Bren, she plans to specialize in Conservation Planning with the goal of developing innovative strategies to protect biodiversity and promote ecosystem resilience in the face of climate change.
