Bio:
Anna Perko graduated from Wake Forest University in May of 2021 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During her undergraduate career, Anna participated in a study abroad program in Venice, Italy focused on biological studies as well as the current and past history of Venice. In examining the current operation of the city, she observed the interaction between excessive tourism, the lagoon ecosystem, and the push for supportive environmental policies. This exposure led to her desire to investigate the implementation of policies that could reduce harmful impacts associated with excessive tourism and build interaction with the environment in predominantly urban areas. In her time at the Bren School, Anna seeks to further explore the potential for collaboration between functioning human society and the environment. In order to gain the skillset necessary to contribute to these areas, Anna will pursue a specialization in Environmental Policy bolstered by a focus in Communication.
