Bio
Annika Leiby graduated from Lafayette College in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geology and Environmental Geosciences. Through growing up in Maryland in close proximity to the Chesapeake Bay, she developed an interest in water resource issues. Annika merged her environmental and geological interests in an independent study project where she investigated the geological and ecological impacts of dams on river systems in the Western United States. Her independent study was a pivotal point for her as it sparked her career interest in working at the intersection of both fields. After graduation she interned with the American Geosciences Institute (AGI) where she worked on an NSF-funded study creating a database on all graduate geoscience programs in the United States. Through the internship she developed a curiosity for collecting data and working with large data sets. At the Bren School, Annika is specializing in Water Resources Management and is excited about the opportunity to add the Environmental Data Science Focus.
