Something About Me

As a third-year Environmental Studies and Sociology double major at UCSB, I have a deep passion for environmental justice and plan on pursuing a career in environmental law. Growing up in both Saint Louis, Missouri and San Bernardino, California, I have seen the complex ways in which environmental injustice and racism can deeply affect marginalized communities across the country. In my future career, I aim to address these inequalities and promote environmental justice and restoration. I am specifically interested in exploring the subfield of environmental law which relates to applying legal rights to nature. I am currently a Research Assistant for the award-winning climate podcast A Matter of Degrees, in which I analyze the future of U.S. climate policies in the midst of the 2024 presidential election and prepare research documents on prominent climate activists who appear on the podcast. I also recently published my first law review article on the implications of collateral consequences in the UCSB Undergraduate Law Journal. In the past, I have worked as an Outreach Coordinator for Tent Mission Saint Louis, in which I organized outreach programs and advocated for legal reform for the unhoused community. Additionally, I conducted research which focused on the effects of air and water pollution on marginalized communities in North Saint Louis. I also enjoy exploring my skills in digital art and layout through being involved on campus as the Production Editor for the Daily Nexus, an artist for WORD Magazine, and an art committee member for a sustainable fashion club called Isla Vista Trading Post. In my free time, I love to cook, read, run, and volunteer with the Isla Vista Compost Collective.
