Bio
Rebecca Reynolds has over eight years’ experience working with students from diverse backgrounds in the educational outreach industry. Most recently, Rebecca held leadership roles in the Girls in Science Program and the Internal Conservation Committee as an Educator at the San Diego Zoo, a world leader in conservation science. In this position, she developed curriculum-based programs for underserved students, piloted an internal food waste diversion program, and led private tours for donors and high-profile clients. Prior to joining the San Diego Zoo, Rebecca held curriculum development roles at the Santa Barbara Unified School District, and facilitated educational programs at the Santa Barbara Zoo. At the Bren School, Rebecca is specializing in Pollution Prevention and Remediation and Water Resources Management, with a focus on Environmental Data Science. Over the course of her career, Rebecca has learned more about how poor environmental quality negatively impacts learning outcomes. Inspired by her interest in public service and environmental stewardship, Rebecca is focused on identifying and mitigating the sources and fates of pollutants in frontline communities to improve public health, and subsequently increase educational equity. Rebecca graduated from the University of California Davis (2012) with a Bachelor of Science in Cell Biology.
