Something About Me
Hi, my name is Celeste Chavez and I recently graduated from UCSB with a double major in Environmental Studies and Geography. My interests include environmental justice, environmental policy, and sustainability. Currently, my focus is on climate policy. In my hometown, I led community listening sessions with historically underrepresented communities to collaborate with them on drafting new climate policies. I also worked with Rincon Consultants as an Environmental Planning intern. I helped prepare Climate Vulnerability Assessments and Climate Action Plans and I researched electric vehicle car share programs and language considerations when writing and addressing environmental justice communities. I hope to continue exploring environmental policy in consulting/planning and perhaps environmental law. Outside of work, I love hiking, backpacking, camping, and reading.
