Bio
Colin Schimmelfing is a tech industry veteran of 10 years, including 4 years of engineering management experience. Colin graduated from Swarthmore College in 2010 with a dual degree in Astrophysics and Computer Science. He has worked as a programmer and leader in a range of organizations, from managing engineering teams at large corporations to founding startups and nonprofits. He believes passionately in using his time and skills to solve societal problems -his most recent project was co-founding Mask Match, a nonprofit that redistributed 850,000+ masks from individuals to health care workers during the early days of the COVID-19 crisis. This passion for social good, along with an enduring love of the environment, led Colin to the Bren School at UCSB. After graduation, Colin plans to help reverse climate change by developing solutions at the intersection of public policy, economics, and technology. He welcomes any and all advice or allies in this pursuit.
