Bio
Devon Rossi graduated summa cum laude from San Diego State University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography - Environment, Sustainability, and Policy. During her undergraduate career, Devon pursued internship opportunities that allowed her to work closely with her San Diego communities. As the San Diego River Park Foundation’s Community Outreach intern, Devon led volunteers during river clean-ups and coastal habitat restoration events. During her internship with BrightSide Produce, she collaborated with other students to distribute fresh fruits and vegetables to San Diego communities experiencing food insecurity. Her work with the San Diego River Park Foundation and BrightSide Produce allowed her to appreciate the integral role communities play in protecting their respective environments as well as fostering a greater sense of environmental stewardship and awareness.
By integrating Coastal Marine Resources Management with a focus in Communication at Bren, Devon aspires to bridge the gap between coastal erosion and communities through integrating education and outreach within environmental projects. She is inspired by the potential of green engineering strategies, such as living shorelines, to simultaneously increase community involvement and coastal resiliency.
