Bio
Dylan Glave currently studies at the Bren School of Environmental Science & Management. His vision is to form technical skills in fisheries work, and collaborate with the Bren community to create oceanic solutions. Dylan will emphasize in Coastal Marine Resource Management. He graduated from UCSB with a B.A. in Environmental Studies in 2016. After graduating, he transitioned from co-president of UCSB’s (recently victorious) Fossil Fuel Divestment battle, into a campaign manager for 350.Org. With a team of community activists, he fights to lead Santa Barbara County through a Just Transition to Renewable Energy. There, he forges partnership between local indigenous groups, labor unions and environmentalists throughout the county. Professionally, Dylan collaborates with 60 local businesses as VP of Sales at Whalebird Kombucha. He continues to spread craft kombucha throughout the Santa Barbara County while in school. Organizing and sales have grown as passions, but Dylan’s second profession continues to serve as a lens for life. He has been a yoga instructor for the past three years. Coaching diverse clientele, and leading Yoga Teacher Trainings, has become a powerful community-building tool. This practice of presence and community is Dylan’s foundation for the work to come at The Bren School.
