Bio
Halle Kuhar-Pitters graduated from Colgate University (2024) with a Bachelors of the Arts in Environmental Studies and a minor in Writing & Rhetoric. Whilst completing her undergraduate studies, she prioritized a humanistic approach to environmental research. She focused on Environmental Justice issues, specifically the topic of representation and inclusion in environmental communication. It is her belief that the human side of environmental work must also be prioritized to facilitate proactive and inclusive environmental solutions.

Her work began in fall 2022 as a research assistant for Dr. April Baptiste in Colgate's Environmental Studies program. Through this work she explored the reactions of Caribbean coastal communities' and their environmental organization responses to different related issues. Her later projects as a university fellow for the Adirondack Foundation's community impact group (2023), and as an independent researcher for a study on environmental communication in 2024, created the foundation for her career aspirations in environmental writing and communications. During her time at Bren School she will focus developing these skills through the Environmental Communications foci and later in her chosen specialization, prioritizing environmental management and collaborative outreach as part of her efforts.
