Bio
Jackson Coldiron graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2021 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Real Estate. Upon graduation he worked for the Vita Coco Company in brand marketing, drawn to their regenerative agriculture projects in the regions where they source coconuts. He managed the Environmental Social Governance strategy for a new product innovation. While he gained experience developing the brand through partnerships with NBA players and social impact organizations, he felt disconnected to the innovative environmental ideas that brought him there.
He decided to attend the Bren school and to prepare for this new direction by reconnecting with his love for the outdoors and sustainable food systems. He volunteered on an organic farm in Colombia, assisted on a kiwi conservation site in New Zealand, worked as a plant specialist at a local nursery in Oakland, CA and backpacked in Patagonia. Entrenched in the realms of permaculture, soil microbial ecosystems, and landscape ecology, he further solidified his desire to be a part of an environmental movement.
Through the Conservation Planning specialization, he aims to gain a deeper understanding of the science behind land use changes and ecology so that he can create environmental solutions, not just market them. Jackson hopes to use his blend of experience, knowledge, skills, and passion to become a liaison between the scientific and corporate worlds.
