Something About Me

I am an Environmental Studies major with an emphasis on Environmental and Urban Planning. My current environmental interests involve regenerative agriculture, sustainable urban planning, and marine conservation (specifically chondrichthyans and their endangered habitats). Relying on my experience growing up in Lost Hills, an agricultural town located in the Central Valley, I am currently a community advocate for Lost Hills’ newly-implemented Community Services District. I help community members understand their rights by translating local meetings from English into Spanish for the Spanish-speaking residents. At UCSB, I am the Co-Chair for Hermanas Unidas de UCSB, where I uplift Chicanx/Latinx voices on campus by keeping this organization focused on creating networking events such as career fairs, developing alumni connections, and providing academic support. As a first-gen student who wanted to find my own space on this campus, I guide my steering committee to create community service projects, social and academic events, and to polish their own leadership skills. Outside of my academic pursuits, I enjoy tidepooling, the occasional beach walk, and watching the sunset.
