Bio
Joaquin Meckler-Pacheco graduated from UC Davis in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Conservation Biology. During his undergraduate studies, Joaquin conducted plant and fire ecology research, focusing on the impacts of climate change on native plant populations. In doing so, he was able to gain a better understanding of the intricacies of the scientific process and the importance of scientific communication. While working for the California Department of Transportation, Joaquin sat on several tasks forces, such as the Sea Level Rise Assessment team and the Emergency Operations Center, where he worked alongside other agencies to ensure a safe and equitable transportation system for the state. Working in environmental consulting for several years motivated Joaquin to attend Bren where he will be focusing on Corporate Environmental Management. With a strong research background and experience in the private and public sector, Joaquin is interested in studying consumer sustainability and decision-making. Gaining insight into sustainable consumer habits will not only enable corporations to increase supply chain efficiency and sustainability but will also help demystify misconceptions surrounding environmentally conscious decisions.
